First 10 BioCollection

1. CONIFER LEAF
Conifer leaves are found on coniferous trees such as Pine, Cedar, Fir, and many more. For this picture I've taken, these are particularly found on a Japanese Black Pine. In contrast to most type of leaves, Conifer leaves are long, thin, and have a needle-like appearance. It has been said that these characteristics have something to do with the tree's survival from severe winter and summer weather. Also, these leaves stay green all throughout the tree's lifetime.

2. DECIDUOUS LEAF
Deciduous leaves are leaves that fall off during the end of the growing season. This event, called the Fall season, is actually an indication that winter season is about to start. As fall season starts, the foliage of plants turns from green to a different color. The color variation foliage turns into depends on the type of plant, but usually turns into an orange-reddish/brownish color.

3. FRUIT-FLESHY WITH SEED

This watermelon is an example of a fleshy fruit with seed. This is especially great during summer as it would serve as a thirst-quencher. The harvest of watermelon is very abundant during this season. Watermelon helps against the inflammation of certain diseases and is a good source for vitamin C and vitamin A.

4. INSECT
This caterpillar is an example of an insect because it will soon mature into a Butterfly. It is certainly not a worm, though generally people call it a worm. It is actually a LARVA of a Butterfly. Caterpillars feed on plants, and some feed also on its old skin after shedding it. Clearly, more caterpillars will show up on places where vegetation is abundant.

5. LICHENS
Lichens grow on tree trunks and also on rocks. Lichens are made up of two distinct species of organisms which are fungi and algae. Both of these organisms have a mutual kind of relationship. Unlike weeds invading your yard, Lichens help in breaking down old woods and take nitrogen from the air then send them down to the soil so other plants can feed on them and benefit from them.

6. NICHE
This man-made pond is a habitat, or a NICHE, for these fishes. A Niche serves as a home or habitat for species
. In this pond, these fishes live, feed, and reproduce. These fishes have a great advantage though because this pond was made just for this species, therefore, there's less competition because same species compete each other.

7. STEM-HERBACEOUS
This stem has a greenish color and non-woody characteristics. Therefore, it's an HERBACEOUS STEM. One function of a herbaceous stem is to transport nutrients from the soil to different parts of the plant. Herbaceous stem has vascular bundles that have xylem and phloem to bring up nutrients from the soil. Also, herbaceous stems have tissues such as the CORTEX (a ground tissue) which is where foods are stored and EPIDERMIS which serves as an outer protective layer.

8. STEM-WOODY
This Bonsai is an example of a perennial plant that has a woody stem.
It is a reduced size of a normal large tree and may also have a lifespan same as what a normal tree has. Trees are woody perennial plants that have woody trunk and branches. A plant tissue, known as the secondary xylem, particularly makes up the wood. Woody tissues are all made up from what so-called "secondary tissues".

9. STIGMA AND STYLE
Stigma and style are some parts of the reproductive organ of a female flower plant. The very tip of the pistil of this flower is called the STIGMA. This is where pollen is kept after being transported from another flower. The STYLE is also found in the pistil of this flower and connects the stigma to the ovary, which is located beneath the pistil.

10. THORN OF A PLANT
The thorns of this plant serve as a defense against predators or invaders. They also protect plants from danger other organisms can make. A thorn is woody, pointed, and very sharp as shown in this picture.
